Rhodes island can be reached both by air or sea.

By air

Main airport is Rhodes International Airport “Diagoras”, located in Paradisi, about 15km from the city of Rhodes.

There are several airlines that offer direct flights to Rhodes from various cities in Europe, as well as from other destinations in Greece.

During the summer months, there are daily flights from International Athens Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. The flight takes about 40 minutes. There are also routes to and from Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Mykonos, Santorini, Kos, Karpathos, and Kastelorizo.

By ferry

Rhodes is connected by ferry to Athens via Piraeus port.

Ferries depart from the port of Piraeus (usually in the evening) and the journey takes 12-17 hours, depending on the ports they dock at.

There are also ferry services from Santorini and Heraklion.

Has also a ferry connection with Agathonisi, Anafi, Astypalaia, Chalki, Chios, Diafani, Kalymnos, Karpathos, Kasos, Kastelorizo, Katapola, Kos, Leros, Lesvos, Lemnos, Lipsi, Milos, Naxos, Nisyros, Panormitis, Paros, Patmos, Rhodes, Sitia, Symi, Thessaloniki, Thira, Tilos, Samos.

There are also ferries that operate between Rhodes and Turkey as well as Cyprus.

By car

If you prefer to drive you can take a car ferry from various ports in Greece to Rhodes. You can drive to Greece from literally any European country. This is a good option if you plan to explore the island by car and want to stay for a long time.

Arriving in Rhodes

Once you arrive on the island, you can get around in a number of ways:

Public transportation

On Rhodes only buses are available.

Taxis

One of the main means of transportation on the island.  The central taxi station is located at Mantraki area in the center of Rhodes Town.
Other taxi stations in the city of Rhodes are located at Grand Hotel, Therme Park, Saint Francis Church, Kolona Port, in front of Analipsi Church, Saint Nicholas Square and Rodini Park.

Car rent

Renting a car in Rhodes is one of the best ways to experience everything the island has to offer.
Is relatively cheap.
Demand for rental cars during the peak summer months is usually high so it’s worth booking your car in advance.
There are also several guided tours and excursions available if you want to explore the island.
